A brief history about Pets 'N' Vets…

Pets 'N' Vets was started on the 1st May 1971 by George Leslie and one part-time receptionist. It was run as a single-handed veterinary practice in 1478 Pollokshaws Rd. with support from different locums and assistants. In 1978 the area of the surgery was doubled by taking over the adjacent shop at 1480 Pollokshaws Rd.

In 1987 a partnership was formed with Ivor Lough who had previously worked as an assistant, and the Branch Surgery - Crookfur Pet Health Centre - was opened in Newton Mearns.

Ross Allan who had formerly taken part in Extramural Study with us while a student, started working at the practice in 2002, and has been with us since.

Today Pets 'N' Vets has three full time and one part time veterinary surgeons, four qualified veterinary nurses, two trainee nurses and three receptionists.
