Relationship With Glasgow University Small Animal Hospital

Ross Allan (BVMS, MRCVS)

Ross graduated from Glasgow University in 2001; he was awarded the The Donald Lawson Prize on graduation. It is awarded to the final year student who shows the greatest ability in Veterinary Surgery.

He worked in mixed practice for 9 months in Aberdeenshire before joining us in March 2002.

His professional interests are especially for surgery and dentistry; he is currently enrolled on the RCVS Certificate in surgery.

He is the current chairman of the Scottish Region of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association and attends BSAVA Council. He is also a member of the BSAVA publications committee.

Ross has written a monthly column on matters relating to pets, and pet ownership for the Glaswegian newspaper and has also contributed regularly to local TV and radio.

Ross was anonomously nominated by clients for the prestigious Petplan "Vet of the Year" Awards in both 2008 and 2009.

Outside of work Ross is keen on sport, especially road cycling and badminton. He competes regularly in cycling time trials, and badminton tournaments.
