Fiona Thomson

Fiona is a Southside Glaswegian born and bred. Her connection to Pets’n’Vets dates back to when she was 12 years old - she brought in her first pet, a particularly vicious Russian Hamster called Tumshy!

From a young age, Fiona grew up surrounded by animals, including countless hamsters, 2 cats, 2 dogs (and 3 sisters!). She currently lives with her cat Sebastian (a Ragdoll cross).

In 2004, Fiona became a part-time member of the Pets’n’Vets team when she began working towards a University place in Glasgow Veterinary School; she helped out as a "pixie" and acted as a Saturday morning receptionist up until and throughout her studies.

Fiona graduated in July 2012 and realised her lifelong dream of becoming a small animal veterinary surgeon. She has now joined the team of veterinary surgeons at Pets’n’Vets where she has a growing interest in small animal medicine, surgery and welfare.

In her spare time, Fiona enjoys listening to music, socialising with friends and making jewellery. In addition to all of this, she recently found time to volunteer in Malaga, Spain where she worked with an animal charity that specialised in neutering and re-homing animals in need.

We are delighted to have Fiona on the team.
