Most of our staff have wanted to work with animals from a young age, and so are always excited when we get the chance to help future generations of veterinary superstars. As part of our Junior Vets Club, we run a series of Workshops for all our young Pets’n’Vets Family members.
Our workshops are split into 3 age groups:
Pre-School (age 2 to 4)
Our pre-school classes are full of fun filled activities, all created to teach you about our animal friends. They will get a chance to have a go at becoming a real Vet or Vet nurse for the day. They will even gown up, and be shown how we listen to an animal’s heartbeat, check for a microchip and even bandage up a sore paw!
Pppsstt… Make sure you bring your teddy!
Early Primary (age 5 to 8)
Our early primary classes are designed to teach little ones about responsible pet ownership. We will look at everything you need to know about caring for your dog, cat and rabbit; and even go through some common problems that we see at the practice and how we treat them. You may also get the chance to meet some of our lovely practice pets!
Late Primary/Early High School (age 9 to 14)
Our main focus for our eldest Junior Vet Club members is to make sure they have all the help and advice they need to pursue a career in Veterinary medicine. We have recent graduates who are more than happy to advise and answer any questions you may have from what subjects to take in school, to what it’s actually like working in a Veterinary practice.
We will look at some real-life cases that we often see in our practices and use diagnostics such as x-rays and blood tests to diagnose.
We're currently unable to take further bookings, however, please stay tuned as we're working on a plan to provide a Junior Vets Club experience to as many Glasgow kids as possible.
If you have already enquired, we will be touch soon with regards to workshop availability and dates.
