RCVS Knowledge Awards – ‘Highly Commended’ for TPLO+
Roundhouse Referrals have been ‘Highly Commended’ from 2021 until present for our TPLO+ project which seeks to improve ‘TPLO outcomes and client satisfaction’. The audit assesses customer service and clinical outcomes relative to previous publications and our own self-benchmarking.
We have sought to refining different areas of the care for our TPLO patients, such as with the addition of a rehabilitation plan as standard and also the use of video follow up.
RCVS Knowledge Awards – ‘Highly Commended’ for Laparoscopic Neutering
Laparoscopic surgery is one of the most popular surgical services at the Roundhouse Veterinary Hospital so was a natural fit for a Quality Improvement Initiatives.
This focus reflects our commitment to consistently delivering the highest standards of patient care, optimising clinical outcomes, and enhancing the client experience.
We are proud that our LapOE Quality Improvement project has achieved ‘Highly Commended’ in both the 2023 and 2024 RCVS Knowledge Awards; further refinements are underway!

RCVS Knowledge Cruciate Registry
Cruciate ligament surgery such as TPLO is the most common orthopaedic surgery in our patients, but as a profession there is a need to continue to improve our treatment of this condition.
RCVS Knowledge’s Canine Cruciate Registry is the first initiative of its type in veterinary medicine anywhere in the world. It relies on information reported by pet owners and surgeon performing treatments, providing an opportunity to gather clinical information in an open, honest, and transparent way, without any commercial bias.
Veterinary Surgeon Ross Allan was on the Advisory Group which launched the initiative, and has been the Gold Contributor to the Registry in the first two years since launch. All patients having cruciate surgery at Roundhouse Referrals will be invited to take part.
