Ross Allan
BVMS PGCertSAS MRCVS, RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery
The Roundhouse Referral's team is led by Pets'n'Vets Clinical Director of Referrals, Ross Allan. Ross qualified from Glasgow University in 2001, gained the BSAVA Certificate in Small Animal Surgery and RCVS Advanced Practitioner status in 2014.
Ross launched the Roundhouse Referral service in 2017. He is especially interested in using Quality Improvement as a means of driving improvements in clinical outcome and client care, this demonstrated by our ‘Highly Commended’ TPLO+ QI project, which has been running since 2021.
Fiona Thomson

Fiona qualified from Glasgow University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She completed the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice and Veterinary Professional studies in 2018, with a bias towards soft tissue surgery and emergency and critical care.
Fiona was one of the first vets to introduce veterinary laparoscopic surgery to Scotland, and established the laparoscopic service at the Roundhouse Veterinary Hospital in 2016. Fiona and the team have been ‘Highly Commended’ by RCVS Knowledge for their ongoing laparoscopic neutering project.
Emma Lindsay
BVM&S CertAVP PGCertVPS MRCVS
Emma graduated from Edinburgh University in 2012 and completed her RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice with a focus on Cardiology in 2019. Emma, who has completed additional studies alongside cardiology Diploma holders, has the skills, experience and equipment to diagnose and manage many cardiology conditions.
Emma has established a high-level primary care cardiology service providing internal and external cardiac referrals at the Roundhouse Hospital. She enjoys a mix of cardiology and medicine investigations, and will generally be found in her second home- the ultrasound room!
