Your pets dental health is an important part of their overall health.
Why is my pets smile important?
Dental disease is the most common clinical condition amongst adult dogs and cats. Many of us have suffered with tooth pain, and so avoiding such discomfort for our pets should be a priority. All of our practices can offer advice on maintaining good oral health, and if needs be, offer treatments to solve dental problems.
There's no such thing as pet false teeth
When you bring your pet into one of our practices, we will look at the condition of his or her teeth, then give you an honest appraisal of the condition of your pets mouth and teeth.
We've invested in dental X-ray machines, not only at the Roundhouse, but at our Scotstoun and Hairmyres practices which allows us to fully assess your pets mouth, just like a human dentist.
For their own safety, cats and dogs require a general anaesthetic for dental procedures. Our modern monitoring equipment, in addition to our fabulous nursing teams, mean your pet will be well looked after before, during, and after their procedure!
BBC's Trust Me I'm a Vet
We were absolutely delighted to have been asked to contribute to the BBC's Trust Me, I'm a Vet TV programme, where we were asked to create a test that could work out the very best way to keep a dogs teeth in tip-top condition.
No previous studies had compared the top 3 options for plaque control in dogs. We investigated which method was best to control dental plaque - tooth brushing using a veterinary toothpaste, a leading brand of canine dental chew, or a leading canine dental diet. The results showed that the most successful treatment for preventing plaque, was tooth brushing.
